Noah Basketball is excited to announce Toronto Raptors head coach Nick Nurse will join the company’s board of directors. Nurse has been a long-time advocate and supporter of Noah Basketball and its innovation to further the game of basketball through sports technology.
Nurse joined the Toronto Raptors coaching staff in 2013 and took over as head coach in 2018. Since 2018 the Raptors have used Noah Basketball’s Shot Tracking System in their facilities as an integral component for player and team development.
“I have seen first hand the benefits of using Noah Basketball for not only player development but also the benefits of the data that Noah provides our players and coaching staff,” said Nick Nurse. “Noah’s instant feedback and data collection is top of the line. It provides our players and coaching staff with real-time analytics and insights on key shooting metrics such as arc, depth and left/right position. We have been using Noah for a while in our facilities and I am looking forward to joining Noah in a more formal manner,” said Nurse.
This partnership plays to the strengths of both parties, as both Noah and Nurse pride themselves on efficient shooting and analytics. Nurse will bring his broad experience and understanding of scouting, coaching and developing players to support Noah Basketball in conveying the relevance of shot tracking for evaluation and improvement.
“We are thrilled to add longtime Noah Basketball friend, Nick Nurse, to our board,” said John Carter, Noah Basketball CEO. “Nick will add wisdom, credibility and essential assistance in articulating the value of Noah for shot improvement and team success. Nick has studied and taught shooting his entire career. We are grateful for his continued support and eagerness to join the Noah team,” said Carter.
Nick Nurse brings a winning attitude to the Noah board. During his playing career, he set the school record for 3-point percentage at Northern Iowa. As a coach, he’s excelled at every level, including NAIA, NCAA Division 1, International Leagues, the USBL, the NBA G-League, and the NBA, as well as in the Olympics. As both a head coach and assistant, he’s won multiple championships, including the 2019 NBA Finals in his first year as the head coach of the Toronto Raptors. In addition to coaching, Nurse is also a Ph.D. candidate and is looking to expand his personal brand.
A common theme between Noah and Nick Nurse is the love for shooting. Noah’s first product was released 15 years ago, and since then evolved into the top brand in the market for basketball shot technology. Making more shots to win more games is the mission. For Nurse, his multi-level experience and long career, both as a player and coach, has allowed him to develop a passion for shooting and the science behind the craft. This partnership will allow both sides to move forward together as they look to expand the Noah system across the nation at all levels. We’re excited to see what the future holds for Noah and Nick Nurse!
